Worked on customization of the delivered Payroll Interface process. This customization involved splitting the Checks issued by the State of New York between different PeopleSoft job records. This was later loaded into delivered PI tables and passed over to GL.

Worked on workflows and built custom self-service approval processes using PeopleSoft approval workflow engine (AWE). Built custom MSS transactions for Termination/Separation approvals, Appoint employees to new position, Discretionary salary change and creating/updating positions.

Provided technical solution and developed a custom Mass Reappointment business process for CUNY faculty.  This process includes recommending large numbers of employees for re-appointments and passing them on for approval. On approval, the reappointments will be loaded into Job.

Implemented the Workstudy related conversions and extensions. CUNY has a large workstudy population that had unique requirements. Their pay was split based on their awards. Hence built an extension to split their pay by calculating their overage amounts using the awards.

Provided technical support through all stages of testing – FIT, SIT and UAT. Worked from onsite during testing phase to support all CEMLIs and was employed in resolving issues and defects.

Worked on the custom payroll interface for New York city and state payrolls

Introduced the logic for ‘Bring to Minimum’ that was introduced in the 8.9 versions.

The Project Scope involves:

Testing Services: Developing Unit Test Plans and documenting Unit testing to validate that customizations perform as expected in 8.9 environments.

Redesign Services: Design and development of customizations in the following HRMS modules: Workforce Administration, Self Service applications for employee performance reviews, Plan Salaries for customer, Health and Safety and Position Management.

Queries Conversion: Converting 8.3 Queries to be 8.9 compliant and then validating the errors not found as a result of the conversion.  Also the queries need to be fixed in 8.9 using the PS Query tool.

Designed and developed customization for the name format logic that caters to requirements to include 42 countries.

Worked on over 50 customizations in various modules like Workforce Administration, Compensation, self service-employee reviews, Plan Salary, Workforce Monitoring.

Developed a custom Daemon process to automate the process of data exchange. This process will automatically detect data files that are placed on the server and take them for processing.

Kentucky State University (KSU), Recently joined the implementation team as Financial Aid Lead for the KSU project consisting of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.2 and Oracle Cloud HCM and Financials.

 

Florida State College Jacksonville (FSCJ), 17-month contract role as lead Financial Aid consultant for the new 9.0 Campus Solutions implementation.  Successfully completed the setup and knowledge transfer for the initial go-live phase consisting of ISIR loads through verification.  Developed the approved strategy to automate the awarding of aid for Clock Hour students utilizing the Pell Formula 4 and the delivered attendance tracking functionality.

 

Massachusetts Bay Community College (MBCC) , 4-month contract role with MBCC to complete and bring live the FA system implementation.  Provided hands-on system processing to bridge the gap following a key staff member’s departure.  Accomplishments for the fall 2014 term included:

City University New York (CUNY), FA Consultant and Trainer , 2-1/2-year contract role supporting the Campus Solutions go-live of thirteen CUNY colleges on Financial Aid.  Originally worked with the CUNY in-house training department and developed custom UPKs and a FA Resource Guide detailing the major FA processing steps.  Successfully delivered “the best training CUNY has ever given” on-site for the FA Team representing the first CUNY college to go live with PeopleSoft Financial Aid.  Additional roles included:

FA Trainer and Consultant , Trained the entire FA staff of the first CUNY college to go live with financial aid and was asked to remain four additional months to provide on-campus post implementation support

Production Support , Three-month assignment in the CUNY Production Support department with emphasis on troubleshooting and resolving end user issues and stabilizing the run book of daily processing utilizing the Control-M workload automation software

FA Trainer – Provided four months of FA training for the second wave of four additional CUNY colleges to go live with Financial Aid

Production Support , Fifteen-month assignment supporting the go live of the third wave of eight additional CUNY colleges to go live with Financial Aid

 

Capella University, Business Analyst , Contract role with Capella’s IT development team as Business Analyst for the TEACH Grant automation project.  Coordinated an eleven-member multi-functional project team and gained successful approval of the Business Requirements necessary to automate the eligibility, awarding and administering of the TEACH Grant to a growing population of eligible students.  Prepared the preliminary Functional Specifications for the project that detailed the step-by-step functional process and system specifications including the requirements to create and transfer Common Record (XML) files like those used in the origination and disbursement of Direct Loans.

 

University of Texas Medical Branch, Functional Lead , Joined the UTMB project as lead financial aid consultant for this year long, full life cycle implementation of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.0 in a complex medical school environment.  Worked closely with the FA Team to setup, prototype and bring live the full financial aid processing cycle with only a single modification to the delivered software.  This involved extensive use of the Equation Engine, Communications Generation, Population Selection and Update, 3C Engine, Event Definition, Process Scheduler and External Award processes.  UTMB’s setup for the Direct Lending processing included two rounds of successful COD School Testing.  Provided two months of post implementation support to successfully answer questions encountered with the initial awarding of aid and Direct Loan processing.  Utilized the UPK Pre-Built Content to customize UAT test scripts and process documentation.

 

University of Arkansas, Functional Lead , Lead financial aid consultant for the 8.9 to 9.0 upgrade.  Conducted in-depth delta reviews of the Campus Solution’s Financial Aid module for the University’s Student Information System Upgrade Project.  Worked with the FA Team to prototype the newly delivered functionality and make recommendations for opportunities to replace internally developed system modifications.  The new functionality included Communications Generation, Population Selection and Update, External Awards and Re-Packaging.

 

The College of New Jersey, Functional Lead , Lead financial aid consultant for this new 9.0 implementation.  Conducted in-depth fit/gap sessions and developed detailed task lists used to guide the FA Team through the setup of core tables and the successful loading of ISIRs.  Emphasis was on the auto assignment of checklists and the generation of missing information letters using both the traditional Letter Generation and the new Communication Generation functionality to send emails directly from PeopleSoft.  Developed detailed ‘How To” documents and provided training in the use of the Query Manager, 3C Engine, Population Selection/Update and External File Load.  Developed and tested a successful proof of concept allowing the client to begin loading ISIRs four months ahead of prior practices and eliminating the expense of sending hard copy letters.

 

The Catholic University of America, Functional Lead , Led the PeopleSoft 8.0 to 9.0 functional upgrade efforts for Financial Aid, Student Financials and the 3Cs (Communications, Checklist and Comments). Conducted in-depth functional review meetings and prepared formal recommendations identifying the steps required for a successful upgrade. Thoroughly tested all upgrade steps and prototyped the enhancements provided by PeopleSoft that included the new Equation Engine, population select and update, SAP and communication generation features. Emphasis was on the successful conversion of packaging equations, mass changes, EDI Manager and related security requirements.

 

University of Missouri, Functional Lead , Joined the UMKC financial aid project team to complete the PeopleSoft 8.9 Financial Aid implementation and provide hands-on, post-implementation support leading to the timely awarding and disbursement of funds for the fall term. Up front efforts focused on the detailed setup and testing of FFELP and alternative loan processing including the hold and release functionality. Live processing included batch budgeting, mass packaging, Pell processing and daily authorizations and disbursements. Processed all Stafford, PLUS, alternative, Perkins and institutional loans utilizing three servicers (including ELM and Nelnet) and more than 65 loan destinations. Created numerous custom reports using Query Manager to meet informational requests. Trained staff and documented processing procedures.

 

Maricopa County Community Colleges, Functional Consultant , Returned to assist the district financial aid team with the newly targeted 2007 PeopleSoft 8.9 go live plan. Focused efforts on testing system modifications and conversion from PeopleSoft 8.0 to 8.9. Lead the multi-functional team that developed detailed “Admission to Graduation” (A2G) scenarios used to test system functionality

Functional Lead , Assisted with implementing PeopleSoft 8.0 Student Administration using a multi-institution Academic Structure to support 10 independent colleges. Worked with the district financial aid team to review existing table setup, test financial aid processes and complete the new aid year rollover in preparation for the targeted 2006 go live plan. Specific emphasis was on the setup and testing of the FFELP loan processing including the hold and release functionality and the Equation Engine

 

Florida A&M University, Functional Lead , Returned to FAMU as lead functional consultant and assisted the financial aid staff, two private lenders and ELM resources in a successful loan conversion from Direct Lending to FFELP. This included extensive testing of setup tables and the transfer of detailed test files between the ELM processor, lenders and guarantors. Placed emphasis on staff training and the development of detailed business process guides

Cornell University, Functional Lead , Joined the student administration project team to assist the PeopleSoft 8.9 implementation planning. Placed emphasis on detailed go live planning aimed at minimizing interfaces between PeopleSoft and the legacy system. Prepared and conducted the financial aid kickoff meeting and fit/gap sessions covering the major financial aid processes. Emphasis placed on demonstrating PeopleSoft 8.9 to the graduate, law, business and veterinary schools.

 

Northern Virginia Community College, Subject Matter Expert , Returned to NVCC and successfully provided the planning, hands-on setup and processing expertise to convert the institution’s direct loan processing to FFELP CommonLine loan processing for the 2007 aid year. This included training, development of procedure manuals and the coordination of third party loan servicers along with the system upgrade from PeopleSoft 8.0 to 8.9

Functional Lead , Served as lead financial aid consultant for 11 months providing hands-on implementation support for the go live processing of financial aid in both PeopleSoft 7.6 and the upgrade to PeopleSoft 8.0. Helped direct loading ISIRs, building financial aid terms and budgets and the auto packaging and batch disbursement of aid. Completed the rollover and new table setup for the upcoming 2006 financial aid year. Managed the setup and process of Pell and Direct loans (including PLUS) using common origination and disbursement (COD). Guided the student financials team through the group posting and batch refunding process. Trained the accounting staff with the skills to record returned checks and assisted with detailed reconciliations of funds flowing from Financial Aid to Student Financials within PeopleSoft and the institution’s general ledger system. New York State Teachers’ Retirement System, Functional Consultant , Completed a significant modification to the PeopleSoft 8.3 Pension system to determine eligibility and calculate cost of living allowance for each member according to the NYSTRS complex requirements. Completed the detailed project specification and maintained close coordination with the technical support writing the SQR and mapping data for conversion. Developed in-depth system integration test scripts, user documentation and conducted formal classroom training.

 

University of Pittsburgh, Functional Lead , Served as lead financial aid consultant during this five month assignment and conducted extensive PeopleSoft 8.0 Financial Aid fit/gap sessions for this large, multi-campus university. Produced detailed gap resolutions with recommendations used to support technical resources and shape university policies regarding the processing of financial aid for seven independent financial aid offices within a single institution academic structure. Led the Financial Aid implementation team through a rapid configuration phase of setup tables and unit testing of the processes to load ISIRs, built financial aid terms and budgets, assigned checklists and letters using the 3C’s, mass packaging and the setup required for FFELP CommonLine loans.

 

Alta Colleges (aka Westwood Colleges), Functional Consultant , Served as the financial aid fit/gap consultant for this multi-campus, tri-state proprietary school.  Analyzed high priority gaps including rolling academic and borrower based aid years. Proposed solutions to minimize development efforts and maintenance costs. Conducted a comprehensive walkthrough of PeopleSoft 8.0 Financial Aid functionality using Alta’s business processes. Guided the development of the financial aid work plan detailing implementation tasks for a phased go live of three beta schools.

 

California State University, LA, Functional Lead , Assisted the financial aid team for six months, leading to the successful go live milestone. Prepared detailed functional specifications for system modification and in-depth project plans. Coordinated the PeopleSoft 8.0 Financial Aid foundation table setup, packaging plans and equations, missing information and award letters and extensive user acceptance testing of financial aid processes. Set up and tested for Direct Loan and Pell processing.

 

City Colleges of Chicago, Functional Lead , Prepared an extensive PeopleSoft 8.0 Financial Aid fit/gap analysis for this large community college system comprised of seven accredited institutions serving greater than 60,000 students. Worked closely with seven financial aid directors to develop effective gap resolutions and completed a working proof-of-concept that was successfully demonstrated on a prototyped database. Developed test scripts as documentation for financial aid processes.

 

Salem State College, Functional Lead , Led the PeopleSoft 7.6 Financial Aid implementation team from the initial fit/gap sessions through the successful go live phase. Set up and tested for Direct Loan processing. Extended in a five-month post implementation role to assist the financial aid director award the incoming class using PeopleSoft’s Mass Packaging. Created numerous queries to enhance the reporting capabilities of the financial aid team. Developed functional specifications for gap resolutions that included the assigning of checklists and letter codes, packaging variables and the update of a student’s packaging status.

 

Rhode Island College, Functional Consultant , Provided 15 months of PeopleSoft 7.5 and 7.6 Financial Aid consulting support for this complex implementation that involved a system upgrade and a challenging mid-year conversion. Set up table for FFELP loans. Developed and wrote extensive packaging plans and equations to mirror the institutional packaging methodologies.

 

Sterilite Corporation, Business Process Consultant , Developed the go live phased approach to replace the legacy ERP system. Used PeopleSoft Enterprise modules including Order Management, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Accounts Payable and General Ledger.
